I can not donate financially, but I would like to donate a complete mechanical design for the project once launched.

I am committed to anything that would benefit our dear Ain Ebel and its community but most of all to the realization of the statue of Our Lady of Ain Ebel, a blessed crown at the entrance of our beloved village. No matter how far we live, our bond to Ain Ebel is by far stronger than time and the distance between us. Having the statue of the blessed Virgin Mary shining over Ain Ebel is a gift and I would encourage every person with any ties to Ain Ebel to please step up and be committed to the completion of this wonderful project. Thank you to all those who have already contributed and to those who will contribute in the future but foremost thank you to all those who are working to make this project a reality. Amira

Any project that benefits Ein Ebel and its people is of great importance. This is a great initiative, one that all Ein Eblies need to embrace. If we don’t set the wheels in motion now, Ein Ebel that we know may be lost forever. The threat of Ein Ebel losing its identity has never been so imminent. This is by no means a swipe at our people in our beloved village who refuse to leave at any cost. However their resilience alone may not be enough. In years to come Ein Ebel may be faced with many challenges, as we are under constant threat of being reduced as a community. We should all work towards protecting Ein Ebel and preserving its heritage on many fronts. The threats I am talking about don’t just stem from our neighbours ever growing ambitions to acquire more and more of our land. Nor is it limited to the mounting number of young Ein Eblies packing their bags in search of their destiny. It’s not the lack of educational programs. It is not the village’s lack of resources and opportunities. The threat is not just Ein Eblies willing to sell their land to pay for the next luxury. Nor is it the abandoning of land for it represents a lot of hard work and no reward. The threat is not limited to Ein Eblies living abroad not having enough interest or influence on what happens to their village. It’s not due to the fact that our people in Ein Ebel feel somewhat an isolated minority due to their surrounds. The threats facing Ein Ebel are all of the above. Erecting a statue of our holly mother is a beautiful gesture. However this should only mark the beginning of an endless journey. We should have a plan to deal with the core issues listed above that pose a constant threat to the longevity of our village. We need a plan that deals with every aspect of prosperity of Ein ebel. We so desperately need to treat the underlining reasons (they are many) that are driving Ein Eblies to abandon or sell their land. Some of these issues may be financial or social or other. My question to us all is what else can we do for Ein Ebel to make it a better place to live? Fadi Eldick Sydney, Australia 22nd June 2009

Ain Ebel needs this project at the entrance of the town. It will strengthen the town on the top of the hill and will encourage alot of people to build and stop selling the land close to the Virgin Mary Statue.
